I’m here to tell you that you’re dead wrong. Most of the people who came over to help in our yard today were people met through Live Journal (not to mention the fact that it’s where I found my fiancee).

We got an amazing amount of work done. The fence looks incredible.

I have some of the best friends in the world.

Thanks, guys. There is a new grill on the way to my house that has a private BBQ with your names all over it.

I’ve priced. I’ve researched.

I wanna do it.

New fence this weekend.

But, for those of you that want to help, know that it will end up being a two day project. If you’re coming from far away (Rob and Doug), you are welcome to crash if you want to help both days.

So here is the plan.

10 AM Saturday is when I’d like to shoot for starting. Coffee and breakfast can be available. The old fence has to come down and posts need to be pulled out. There are trees that have grown up between the chain link fence and the wood fence, so I’m going to get a chainsaw to cut them down and see if I can rent a stump grinder for the finishing touches. Once all that is out and hauled away (this is where xanyboi becomes so very key) new posts go in. I want to cement them all in. I know you don’t have to, but with this being hurricane central and all I think it’s a good idea.

That will be day one.

Day two, again starting at 10 AM, will involve putting up the fence sections and finishing them. I figure once we have two of them up some of us can start the finishing and staining process.

There are no corners or gate pieces involved in this. It’s one straight line down the back of the yard. Maybe at some point I’ll do more, but I figure this is a good start.

Dinner will obviously be provided both days to those who arrive. Maybe on a new grill. Depends on how much this fence ends up costing.

And thus, the Home Depot card will go right up again. *shrug* At least the house will look better.

There is a new pope.

I hope it’s James Brown.

Seriously.

I’d go back to church.

Edit My choice was better.

That’s disturbing.

I’m particularly thinking of the uber house duded donwaughesq and xanyboi, but anyone who likes an honest day of work is welcome.

You guys feeling up to a challenge this weekend?

Want to tear down and install a fence?

My mind is churning.

Lemme know.

If any of you were planning on getting tickets at the door for Bomb-itty tonight it is, apparently, sold out.

Ok, gang. I think Saturday night is going to be the night we go see Bomb-Itty again. I’d like to go on Friday so I can take Alex again, but I just don’t see it happening with the hour drive home from work. I think it would be too chaotic and rushed, and the last thing I want to do before a lovely evening in the park is be chaotic and rushed. So yeah, Saturday night – Same plan. Get to the park at 6 and have some yummy picnic goodness, then watch the show. Comment or email if you’re going to tag along so food plans can be made.

I’m actually kind of excited to see what Weight Watchers has in store for me tonight. Of course, even if it’s just a small loss I know I’m doing great and the inches have been dropping. I’ve been consistently working out with Yourself Fitness every day, and I can feel the results. Good stuff.

This weekend – Household stuff. The. Hall. Must. Fall. I’m tired of looking at it in the 3/4 complete stage. Not only that, but K. got a bunch of plants yesterday and she’s going to need help planting them, which means that we are going to start doing more work in the yard. High time, too. It’s embarrassing. We’re also giving some much needed attention to the office/computer room. Heh. Funny how fast the little piles accumulate Not to mention the dusty hair balls.

But that’s a rant for another day. Or one I’ve already done before.

Hrm.

Ok, we are thinking of doing it again. The show runs through the 17th. Who’s up for it?

Ok…seriously…ow….

Had stomach cramps all night. Hardly slept at all. I’m hoping it wasn’t from the food at the park last night, because that means others might be dealing with this too.

It’s a whole world of suck.

On the up side, Bomb-itty still kicks much ass and I haven’t had a cigarette in two weeks now.
